Unfit

No bell can ring
on our Sunday morn.
Insult grins on injury
with smile worn
thin in the corners and
a sting smeared
with salt.

We are like…

bandages
that seek an open wound.
vows
in search of a wedding day.
Raindrops
in hope of an umbrella.
An empty ring
that wants a slim finger.
