THE STUDIO THEATRE at St. Denis Building
is the current location for the Second Sunday Poetry Readings.
Cafe Alibi was our "home" for several years.

This cozy little coffee shop is a welcome family-run alternative to Starbucks, and has free wi-fi, computers for rent, and an outdoor patio to boot. Far enough away from the hubbub of Old Town to clear your head, close enough that you won't mind walking, it's the perfect place to relax, refuel, and revive. The hours are Hours:
    Sun.-Thurs. 7 a.m.-midnight., Fri.-Sat. 7 a.m.-2 a.m. -  Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are served.

Here's what people are saying about Cafe Alibi...

"Great computer cafe. The breakfast bagel was amazing too: they added a little honey mustard and it changed the flavor so much - who knew?  Free, fast wifi. Good coffee. Good food. Good service. Not too crowded. I'll go out of my way to come back." B.B.

"This place is awesome! Half coffeeshop/eatery and other half outdoor *hookah lounge.  Had Jasmine and Black tea and they were probably the best tea I have ever had at a hookah place.  They were bumpin' anime background music which was hilarious, but it was quaint and really relaxing.  Definitely a good place to take your date! Plus, the service was fast and great!" K.H.

"I'm a total coffee nerd, and Alibi (under its new management) is really doing the Right Thing. They've got LA Mill coffee, and will drip you a pot of it to order, with a ceramic Hario cone filter (no plastic taste). There's also a comfy couch and fast free wireless, and the place now has real coffee shop hours (7 to midnight, I believe). Please support it and make Pasadena a better hangout." D.T.

"I went here today and it was EXCELLENT ALL AROUND! I found the prices to be great.. for I did not spend more then $10 and had a great quantity. The staff was also friendly to boot!" A.M.

"Great Atmosphere, Coffee, and Service! Though only one person was behind the counter on the Sunday afternoon I tried this place out, he was very nice as well as efficient. The mocha I had was delicious and sitting outdoors was a great experience." R.S.

Formerly the Second Cup Café. Open Mic poetry show, hosted by Alex M. Frankel, happens on the second Sunday of every month in the heart of Old Town Pasadena. Great local and national poets perform their work, sell and sign books, and mingle with audience members and open mic participants. This is Pasadena's leading poetry event!
